Before digital cameras came along, you had to set your "F stop" to the proper setting to have the right exposure for your photos. There was a saying among photojournalists: "F8 and be there."--set your camera to F8, and get to the scene ready to go. Not that much has changed, really.

Welcome to the Observer's Photo Blog

Truth be told, I wanted to be a photojournalist when I grew up.

"The pictures are there, and you just take them."

Mastiff Mug

All tired out during the recent Pet Expo.

  1. Dear The observer,
If I win the lottery and can ever afford the food: I was always going to get three mastiffs and name them Bella, Bubba, and Buster.

I ended up using two of those names in my manuscript. And i never buy lottery tickets.

    But oh, cute,
    Ann T.

  2. Ann T:
These are BIG dogs! I have a photo of his big feet. It didn't turn out real great, but it does show how big his feet are.
