Before digital cameras came along, you had to set your "F stop" to the proper setting to have the right exposure for your photos. There was a saying among photojournalists: "F8 and be there."--set your camera to F8, and get to the scene ready to go. Not that much has changed, really.

Welcome to the Observer's Photo Blog

Truth be told, I wanted to be a photojournalist when I grew up.

Sunday Sunset

Walked out of B&N in Leawood and was greeted by this sky at sunset. Beautiful! (Photos taken 6/27/10)

  1. Dear The Observer,
Wow, these are amazing. I think I like to lowest one best, like surf or doves across the sky and the black buildings.

But then I'm drawn to the middle one, with the cumulus stack (?) in front of the cottony (stratus?) clouds.

Truthfully, they're all three an amazement. Thanks for a grand vista!
