Before digital cameras came along, you had to set your "F stop" to the proper setting to have the right exposure for your photos. There was a saying among photojournalists: "F8 and be there."--set your camera to F8, and get to the scene ready to go. Not that much has changed, really.

Welcome to the Observer's Photo Blog

Truth be told, I wanted to be a photojournalist when I grew up.

Quotes

"If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough."

"The pictures are there, and you just take them."

Forsythia

The forsythia in the metro got together with a meeting Monday morning and decided it was time to bloom. Consequently, there are bushy cascades of yellow all over town. These happen to be mine.

It wasn't long ago that there was snow in these branches! Link here at South Kansas City Observer.

Hard to believe the quickness of the bloom: one day, sticks, next day, flowers.

And my older bro and younger sis are both photographers. My sis' blog is Snippets of Snaps in my blogroll. She has a link to her website as well on there. She's got the "eye". Kinda makes me jealous lol.
