Before digital cameras came along, you had to set your "F stop" to the proper setting to have the right exposure for your photos. There was a saying among photojournalists: "F8 and be there."--set your camera to F8, and get to the scene ready to go. Not that much has changed, really.

Welcome to the Observer's Photo Blog

Truth be told, I wanted to be a photojournalist when I grew up.

Clouds

These clouds were in the sky the same day as the rainbow in the previous two posts.

  1. Dear The Observer,
    Lovely!

You know, I keep trying to name the clouds according the Field Guide to Weather, and have a hard time. I understand cirrus clouds and that's it. So far.

    lol,

  2. Ann T:

I know National Weather Service has some good stuff on clouds.

This was 180 degrees from the rainbow. It was literally at my back when I took this picture.

  3. Dear The Observer,
I have noticed before--it is hard to set a particular 'sky' in your memory. Somehow I think you won't forget this one . . .

I have one I remember. I had to work at it, really watch it and set it in my mind.

    Just silly me,
    Ann T.
